Lios Póil 2:07
An Ghaeltacht 2:10
Two goals at the beginning of each half proved to the ultimate difference as Lios Póil came up short in the West Kerry League final.
Lios Póil responded immediately through a Cathal Ó Súilleabháin point, before An Ghaeltacht restored their three point lead with a point from play. A point from Garreth Ó Nuanáin reduced it to two once more, but it proved to be their last score until the 21st minute. It was at this stage that Lios Póil sprung into life as two goals in the space of three minutes meant from Tomás Ó Caomhánaigh and Brian Ó Raoil, who had his brother Adrian Ó Raoil to thank for the goal ensured that both sides were level.
An Ghaeltacht went ahead through a free from Seán Mícheáil Ó Chonchúir, only for Ciarán Ó Súilleabháin to leave both sides level 2:02 to 1:05 at half time.
The beginning of the second half proved testing, as Lios Póil were caught for 1:02 early on, and despites converted frees by Cathal Ó Súilleabháin remained three points behind. This lead proved to be a barrier they could not breach as every time they scored a point on the other end went over in the other half of the field. Despite this though they were always dangerous, as up to the final kick of the game were in with a chance.
But An Ghaeltacht prevailed in the end.
