Lios Póil 1:24
Kilgarvan 0:06
The fact the scoreboard at one stage shut down says it all, as Lios Póil booked their spot in the Novice semi-finals. A match in which they dominated from start to finish, began when Deaclán Ó Súilleabháin fired over three points, as the home team set out their lot. Further points from players such as Donnacha Ó hUigín, Aodán Mac Gerailt and Ciarán Ó Súilleabháin made sure that by the end of the first quarter the score line read 0:10 to no score.
The situation only got worse as further points from Ó Súilleabháin and Tomás Ó Caomhánaigh put further daylight between the sides. Kilgarvan eventually did get off the mark when Ger Kelliher pointed from play, but this provided proof that they were Anseo. Lios Póil kept the ante going and courtesy Ó Caomhánaigh and Ó Súilleabháin and by the half time whistle the scoreboard read 0:17 to 0:01
The second half started where the first left off and two points from Ó Caomhánaigh were quickly registered before Con Godrey pointed from a free for Kilgarvan. Kilgarvan at this stage enjoyed their best period as they scored four points over the next ten minutes as two Seán O’Sullivan’s and Con Godfrey.
However Lios Póil kept coming with further points from Colm Ó Murithile, Tomás O Caomhánaigh and Daragh O Brosnacháin. Lios Póil advance to the semi-finals once again.
