Played in a perishing wind, Lios Póil playing at home went down to An Ghaeltacht in their first competitive match of the year. An Ghaeltacht, through Dara Ó Sé didn’t waste any time settling as they raced into a three point lead. It took until the 10th minute before Lios Póil registered their first score of the game with a point from play by Daragh Ó Brosnacháin. The remainder of the first half proved a tight affair with a strong displays in defence and midfield coming from Pól Íbhín and Mícheál ‘Jim ‘ Mac Gearailt respectively for Lios Póil. As a result of such displays Lios Póil ended up being a point behind at half time Lios Póil 0:04, An Ghaeltacht 0:05.
